Doctors Didn’t Think This 2-Pound Baby Would Survive, But She Proved Them Wrong

By  |

Watching a child deal with medical complications is every parent’s worst nightmare. The most devastating conditions of all are the ones that children are born with. Not many little ones have to face that reality, but for those who do, life is made all the more difficult.

Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley is a 12-year-old girl who was born with an extremely rare disease called primordial dwarfism, which results in stunted growth and vascular issues. Most people with primordial dwarfism don’t live past the age of 30, but that hasn’t stopped Kenadie from enjoying every second of her amazing life.

Primordial dwarfism starts in the womb. Babies affected by the disease start experiencing stunted growth before they’re even born.

When Kenadie was born, doctors didn’t expect her to survive very long outside of the hospital. Not only was she small in size, but she exhibited all the symptoms of primordial dwarfism, including heart and brain damage.
