Ever Wondered What The Most Dangerous Storms Really Looked Like? It’s Crazy.

Storms are awesome, cataclysmic events. Some people find them so awe-inspiringly cool that they spend their lives chasing and documenting them so that others can appreciate their power, too.

Mike Hollingshead has been chasing storms since 1999, and posts his photography and other media on his website, Extreme Instability. It”s named after a phrase in the weather report from his first storm chase.

Below are some GIFs of storm clouds he created using just single images and photoshop. They”re pretty mesmerizing and really make you appreciate how awesome storms really are.

There”s definitely something frightening about all that power, but there”s also something so beautiful, too. That combination seems to be what makes these storms so fascinating.
