Police in San Francisco probably feel like they”re living in a serial killer movie this week after a horrific discovery. A squad responded to a suspicious package alert near the city”s Mission District and discovered a suitcase full of mutilated human remains. The discovery happened just blocks from Twitter”s headquarters.
Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a suspicious package on Wednesday afternoon. A roller-type suitcase was left unattended next to a pile of garbage and debris.
The block at 11th and Market Street was shut down while police conducted their investigation. That”s when they made their horrific discovery.
Inside the suitcase were rotting, mutilated human body parts. The remains were so badly butchered that police had to call in an expert to make sure they were human and not from an animal. Police say they found other human remains in the surrounding area. It”s unclear if the remains are all from a single person.
What makes the discovery of this suitcase full of body parts even more disturbing is that it was found just a few blocks from Twitter”s HQ. The area is a bit rough around the edges, but is also home to a number of tech startups.

Police say they have yet to identify a suspect in the incident. However, they have a distinct description of a person of interest whom they are still tracking down.
