The friend of a user on Reddit got a call to go outside and check the sky. When his father walked outside, he was blown away by what he saw.
This was on the outskirts of Sirkka in Finland.
Halos like this are produced by the ice crystals in cirrostratus clouds. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting sunlight between their faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions.
I”m not sure if I would”ve ran back into the house or stared in awe. Either way, these halos are absolutely beautiful.
