A Stolen Theme Park Mascot Was Just Discovered In A Shockingly Disturbing Place
Joyland, a small but cheerful amusement park in Witchita, Kansas, is a source of nostalgia for those who grew up in the town. Although it closed down in 2004, those who went as a child remember the Whackey Shack, a wooden roller coaster with a clown named Louie, who regaled visitors with his organ playing.
But in 2005, the clown went missing. Its disappearance wasn”t reported until 2010, so the police believed there was no way to track down the beloved mascot. They didn”t think so, that is, until they found Louie in the home of the worst kind of criminal.
Louie had been missing for a decade, but then he was found while police were searching the home of Damian Mayes.
He was an organ repair man for the park and met Louie while fixing the clown”s favorite instrument. When the park closed in 2004, Mayes must have come back for him.
Police took special interest in the case of Louie since they all rememberd him from their childhoods. They were happy to return him to Joyland, which has until recently been the clown”s home for 50 years.
