One thing about the animal kingdom that never ceases to amaze me is its boundless diversity. Just when you think you”ve seen all the creepy-crawly creatures there are to see, a new one rears its terrifying head. Which, as luck would have it, brings me to the topic of this article: the mantidfly.
The mantidfly is actually a remarkable creature. From a distance, it looks almost exactly like a wasp. As you look closer, though, you”ll notice it has claws like a praying mantis. Despite its fearsome appearance, mantidflies don”t sting and are pretty much harmless to humans. They”re totally content eating flies.
That being said, they”ll still give you the heebie-jeebies. Check it out in the video below.

What really freaks me out about the mantidfly is how much it looks like a wasp. I really, really, really hate wasps.
