The only thing worse than a creepy bug is one of that size. Despite their huge yuck factor, the giant weta bug manages to be charming and maybe even a little bit cute.

The first thing you”ll notice about the giant weta is its size. The average giant weta bug is around four inches long, but there have been a few specimens found in the wild that have grown up to seven inches.

I”ll admit it…if I ever saw a giant weta bug in nature, I”d hightail it out of there. While they are fantastic creatures from an evolutionary perspective, I have no desire to admire them up close.
